Way cheaper than the a drop in unit and unless you’re going racing with your trailblazers, there is no need for billet anything in a daily driver. I have the transgo shift correction kit in my 2004 trailblazer with pinless accumulators( stock 1-2 springs of course) a corvette servo conversation available for about $20 everyday online. Not so much addressing you two, just trying to give anyone else chasing this problem the right information.

Plus sonnax makes springs for the 1-2 piinless accumulator or if you happen to be changing the 4th pisto, you can put that in the 1-2( with a pin of course). I’m intrigued to know what if anything happened to that transmission and what shape it in today. That could also be the source of the harsh shift cuz the band is slamming into the drum. And mooseman, put those transgo springs in that servo. I’ll bet a dollar you have a Brocken spring in there. Not really sure the orientation that’s supposed to be in there, they were all different but try to put the original configuration back in there and it may solve the harsh shift. All you have to do is remove the accumulater housing on your next oil change. to match what speciation? You have to match those holes with you particular transmission and if you never removed the second, how did you come up with thi information? And better too small of holes than too big for sur but I would start with that 1-2 accumulater, witch is easy enough. They end up breaking and that maybe where you’re getting the harsh 1-2 shift from. One thing, moose man, the sonnax pinless accumulator for 1-2 are not designed to work with the transgo springs. That being said, I need to disagree with MANY things being said on this post and I have to inject my two cents into the conversation. If I smoke the band we know it was nearly gone anyhow. What I have now is something I can drive for the rest of the season with some gov' work and plan to tear it down this winter. His idea was a seal not installed properly. We can hear it apply, but not positively. He showed me where to air test that clutch and it has alot of leakage.

We still have some movement on the cover and I will try welding more and 1 more large shim. We assume the 2nd servo piston was bottoming out or binding the spring. kit.Īfter adding all of this to the servo we have 2nd gear, somewhat weak, but the band is applying. We welded a strong 1/8" on the end of the servo pin and installed 2 of the large diameter shims under the servo cover as in the Jr. We removed a couple small shims from the servo pin and reinstalled the snap ring which was eliminated by the -2 Transgo kit. ( I bribed him with a few beers and some popular dead presidents) and I have a hoist in my garage. I actually brought home a transmission shop owner to go over my problem. Transgo offered some help, but I'm not exactly their customer so the calls are rather short and sweet.Īny ideas? Where do I go upstream from the servo to look for a problem.

Now it free wheels in low and 2nd when puilled down manually. Stab the gas under 25 mph dumps it into 1st where it stays 'till throttle is reduced. It will hold low gear 'till I back off the gas (over 6k rpm) then it hits 3rd gear. I also added a corvette servo and reshimmed per kit instructions to just under 1/8" at the cover.
I cleaned up the plugs installed in the seperator plate and reassembled. I ended up with 1 ball left over.don't know where it was.
Transgo faxed me the instructions and i reviewed the installation. What I found was the trans already has a transgo 700-2 kit installed.

My plan was to drop the pan to confirm TV adjustment and install a transgo junior kit to further tune the tv circuit. I was also concerned about the TV adjustment as it has a TPI with Lokar cable, and as I said, was setup by someone else. Shifting was lazy and it "free wheels" when I down shift to low gear, but pulls strong when I get on the gas. I have an early 700r4 behind a ZZ4 350 in a '67 C-10 pickup.
